'Melania' Doc to Premiere at The Kennedy Center

First Lady Melania Trump has set a premiere venue for Melania, the Brett Ratner-directed documentary about her return to the White House. It will bow at the recently renamed The Donald J. Trump and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

Amazon declined to comment, and no date has officially been set for the red carpet premiere.

The trailer for the Amazon MGM Studios’ doc, which was made with Melania Trump’s participation and follows her during the 20 days leading up to the 2025 Presidential Inauguration, was released last week. The spot opens with the first lady in the U.S. Capitol rotunda on her husband’s second inauguration day as U.S. President, turning to the camera to say: “Here we go again.”

The project was announced in January, two weeks before President Trump’s return to the White House, and has been the subject of curiosity and scrutiny, not only because of its subject matter, but because it marks the return of Ratner, who has not worked in Hollywood since being accused of sexual misconduct in 2017.

Director of Melania Trump film exposed in Epstein files drop: report

“Brett Ratner, the director of “Melania,” the new documentary about First Lady Melania Trump, was spotted in the Justice Department’s Friday release of thousands of files on Jeffrey Epstein, Vanity Fair reported late Friday.

Among the thousands of files released by the DOJ Friday, internet sleuths were quick to identify Ratner in an undated photograph with a shirtless man that appears to be Jean-Luc Brunel, a French model scout and owner of the international modeling agency MC2 Model Management, which has considerable financial backing from Epstein.

Brunel died by apparent suicide in 2022 while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges, as did Epstein in 2019.

… Ratner is now set to direct “Rush Hour 4” after the project was greenlit by Paramount, and after President Donald Trump “lobbied” for the studio to take up Ratner’s project.

Ratner was also selected to direct “Melania,” set for release in select-theaters on Jan. 30, 2026. The film was announced in January of 2025, an indication that Ratner was likely still held in high regard among the Trumps, further supported by Donald Trump’s push for Paramount to fund “Rush Hour 4” with Ratner at the helm.”

This article with the picture of Brunel and Ratner appeared in the first release. Casts kind of a big shadow over Melania’s documentary release if it’s noticed, but beyond this one article I saw the other day after the first release I haven’t seen any mainstream news in print or tv mention it. I hope it hasn’t also been memory holed. Seems very important to me in connecting some dots.
