As of December 24, 2025, the specific video you are likely referring to describes a recent incident involving Luis Tovar, a former corrections sergeant in Florida's DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office. Updated reports from today and yesterday confirm the following: The Incident: Body camera and security footage from December 17, 2025, show a 22-year-old inmate being moved to a different cell. After an initial struggle where the inmate was taken to the ground, he was eventually restrained in a chair.

The Beating: While the inmate’s hands were strapped down in the chair, Tovar was filmed repeatedly punching him in the face and head. Legal & Employment Status: Following an immediate internal investigation, Tovar was fired and arrested on two counts of battery. The sheriff's office publicly condemned the video, stating that the use of force was unlawful once the inmate was restrained. Family Response: The inmate's family has spoken out, questioning how he could be "resisting" while strapped to a chair and calling the treatment inhumane.

Luis Tovar, looking confused to find himself arrested here: https://www.winknews.com/news/desoto/family-seeks-justice-after-desoto-inmate-beaten-by-officer/article_bc93c851-ff3f-48ba-9ab1-2dd97728445c.html

any brutality they want to commit.

"I was in fear for my life" is getting pretty worn out, too.

it horrifies me at the abuse inmates received before there was surveillance videos,
another thing, exercise your 1st, 4th and 5th Amendment rights, always film the police and never, ever talk to the cops, they're not your friends, they're looking to jam you up and collect money for the state.

Not all cops are like this, but they're just as culpable if they don't report illegal uses of force by another cop.
