I never knew the highest number of those awarded the M.O.H. We're from the Hispanic community.

Dyslexic bad punctuation ramble ahead.
I only ever knew of one N.C.O. In my three years as a teenage grunt mid 80’s who was awarded the M.O.H. for his actions in Vietnam. I once witnessed standing inspection as a rifle company. As our division commander and the generals aide a full bird colonel salute this fine trooper first as is proper procedure.
Officers salute first in respect to those who have been awarded the Medal of Honor well those walking upright which is rare for those awarded with this honor.
This was during a I.G. inspection as we were in our class A dress uniforms.
Never really had much interaction with this E-7 as he was in a charge of a different rifle platoon in my company.
Only times i remember doing anything with the sergeant first class was when we were trying as young enlisted to gain our E.I.B. Expert infantry Badge this S.F.C. Was training us on one of the tasks during a round robin.
Another time i remember him I was once walking back from the P.X. He stopped his rambler station wagon on a rainy morning and him and his wife gave me and my two cases of beer a ride back to the company area.

His story rumors only he got out of the army then re-engaged in the nineteen seventies. Yet rumor in hearing from others around me at that time on how he was awarded the M.O.H. Was his platoon was having a shit day caught in kill zone by N.V.A ambush.
And this fine soldier used some LAW rockets to open up a gap destroying some NVA bunkers so his platoon could link up with rest of their company.

So my point in this bad punctuation dyslexic ramble is i am really not sure. Yet as our brown skin brothers and sisters are being terrorized and those who support this FUCK THEM clutching their conservative fake ass pearls over a halftime show.
Sixty one people in this article I posted shows us that we have fine brave people from the Spanish community. Who at a moment in their lives that they didn’t ask for .
Probably said fuck this war shit and buckled down in disregard for their own lives and in doing so saved others lives.

Chonk scored snacks last night although he’s now 88 pounds we had a yearly checkup Tuesday . It’s winter weight Dunc says father and the vets scales were probably broken and it’s definitely malpractice.
And so snacks are just canned no salt green beans
Yet last night we shared sardines in oil it’s all protein Sheltie.

Because you are a great story teller, a seanchaí. Stories about dogs, military experiences, guitars, being a teamster et al, become alive from your keyboard to my screen. Keep on brother.

He earned (not won) it in Korea. His unit had been in contact for 24 hours or so, and most of the rest were wounded. A North Korean soldier threw a grenade into their foxhole, and he covered it with his body. It went off, and he survived. He spent months hospitalized but received the Medal from President Truman. Sadly he died shortly after he’d retired from the Army.

Jerry K. Crump if you want to look him up.
