Today I'm REALLY going to alarm you: according to CNN, Noem already has a new job lined up: to be the US Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas. "Jim, what in hell is THAT?" It is a group of Latin American leaders working to bring forth what the White House's own Twitter channel calls the "Donroe Doctrine."

The National Interest magazine, which is extremely right-wing, describes the Shield of the Americas as a "right-wing South American alliance." I"m not providing a link to these guys but a quick web search will take you to their page. In essence, the Shield of the Americas is Trump's way of spreading Trumpian Extremism to the entire American landmass. The weird thing is, the article didn't make it seem like the author thought turning South America into a hotbed of right-wing extremism was all that good of an idea. (It may have something to do with the fact that when South American countries go right-wing extremist they tend to start gunning down innocent people in the middle of the street.)

Oh, don't worry, she really was canned. Her antics were becoming a political liability. But her firing gives Trump the ability to do two terrible things at once: get rid of someone the Dungeons & Dragons players would call "chaotic evil" and replace her with a "neutral evil" player character, and give her a new job that affords her the opportunity to do even more damage than she could at DHS. I suspect we're soon to learn Corey Lewandowski has been given a job in the Office of the Special Envoy, which would enable him to continue to take care of her particular needs.
