"Why does it feel different this time?'

This content creator's name is Nicole Rudolph and she doesn't come across as particularly "hard hitting". Some of her insights do hit home for me at times, though.

She describes history as a rock bouncing downhill in its trajectory. We can manage a few accurate predictions about its path, but it is hardly guidable by those in power who think that they control the world.

Now, do you find Rudolph comforting in her perspectives? Is she irritating because she isn't alarmed enough? Is she infuriating because she, herself, is seated in a comfortable position pleasantly discussing a world where not very pleasant things are happening and it all seems so out of control?

Tell me what you think.

She is history professor with focus on cultural trends (specifically everyday life trends; fashion, home decor, entertainment, small business and workforce practices, feminism, the role of children)and she did do the research using contemporary sources.
She does identify this period as well into a build up to Authoritarianism Fascism. She also discusses some of what worked and didn't worked on a more domestic sense across several different types of disastererous political events.
It's an interesting watch
But no, she's not going to run around being urgent about the "now", she focuses on actual historical cultural movements and lets you figure out what might be useful across the various cultural regions in the US.
