Just got back from my first ever protest rally. What a great experience!

Between 800 and 1000 people in Ambler PA. Which was great to see.

The important part is that the experience is a watershed for me. I'm now "in". I'm thinking about what I should be doing next. How I can do more. And I know I'm not the only one feeling this way. Like a lot of people I talk to, I thought this kind of activism was mainly in the past. That we were done w/ this stuff. But I'm ready for the new edition. And I hope you are too.

2. The contemporary version of protests certainly has more creative signs

Keep up the good work I’m going to as many as my body will allow me to. This morning was too early. My brother is going to one later. I think it’s a good idea to have lots of different protests nearby. We can really make ourselves heard.

3. Our local one doesn't start till 4! I'm chomping at the bit!

4. My wife and I went to the protest in Goshen, NY.

It looked to be about 700-800 people. This is about the same number as last time, but it was in the high 30's with a stiff breeze and the previous time it was much warmer. We stayed over an hour until we got a bit too cold and had to leave. On the way out, two other people came in and took our place.
The difference was the huge number of cars that drove by honking, waving and giving thumbs up. I guess that was the warm way of participating.
I only saw 2 vehicles where they flipped the bird at us.

7. One of the best things about protests...

...is you learn you are definitely not alone: others see and are upset with the same things you are freaked out about. Another great thing is the contacts you make and connections with folks who are active in the resistance. So glad you joined!

8. My husband and I just got back from our protest/rally/march in Gresham, Oregon.

Ron Wyden, our senator, gave a speech. We were one of 11 rallies he was going to attend today. The signs were great. The people were great, and the weather was perfect. There were all ages. I am guessing about 2,000 people were there. We are right outside of Portland, so a lot of people go there for the big protest, which is held along the waterfront.

2,000 at our protest... I was standing next to a woman and she said that she felt so isolated and discouraged until she started going to rallies and being with others who were out protesting... Community is so important...

I'm so happy I went! I don't know the headcount, but I would say at least 200 - 300. Not bad for ruby red south Alabama! I was really overwhelmed but the support of all the people driving by - everybody honking and waving and giving thumbs up. Only saw 3 hecklers and the counter protest down the road also only had 3 people.

13. My wife and I went to the one

In St. Cloud, MN. Not as many people there as the last one, but the temp was about 50F and very windy. Had to leave about an hour early - we were both starting to get hypothermic.
