Can I blacken out trump'asses picture on new passport?

My 'short' passport expires soon and I really do not want to renew it if trumpass picture is on it. So was wondering if it does appear, can I blacken it out with an indelible black magic marker, or will this invalidate my passport?
I know I could google 'defacing your passport' but thought this might make a humorous if not serious topic.
A short passport is not worldwide, just Canada and Mexico, maybe another nearby etcetra.

As an official document, much like a driver's license or ID card, defacing it would be a crime.

You might get away with a temporary sticker or something.

If you try to enter a country with an altered passport they will confiscate it and send you back to America.

You say trying to enter with an altered passport, the country will send me back to America.
I think if I tried to enter Canada or Mexico with trump blackened out or with a mustache they would welcome me with open arms.
As well as most NATO countries.

As funny or cathartic it would feel, don't deface your passport. Countries will absolutely deny you entry. Airlines may not even let you board if they check it and see it before departure because they aren't going to want to risk having to transport you back if denied entry.

7. Are you going to the Washington DC passport office for renewal?

That's the only office the defaced passports will be available. If you reside in DC, I would do the online option renewal.

13. Use black electrical tape

You won’t have to see his ugly face, and it should peel off when needed. Don’t permanently alter it in any way. I wouldn’t use any pens or markers of any kind.
