Super dumb: FAA reviewing low Boeing 777 pass over Horseshoe Bay airport in Texas

Federal authorities are reviewing an unusually low flyby by a wide-body cargo jet over a Central Texas airport after video showed the aircraft appearing to come within feet of the runway.
Video that circulated widely on social media Thursday appears to show a Boeing 777 in Qatar Airways Cargo livery making a low pass over Horseshoe Bay Jet Center, which is about 55 miles northwest of Austin in the Hill Country. In the video, posted by X user Eric Breno, the airliner approaches the runway with its landing gear up while people watch from the airport apron.
As the plane begins to pull up at the end of its pass, it banks sharply to the right. The right wingtip appears to come within feet of striking the pavement.
It drew sharp criticism from pilots and aviation experts who viewed the clip. Dallas aviation attorney and licensed commercial pilot Ladd Sanger said the pass, particularly the proximity of the wingtip to the ground, raises serious safety concerns.
That is super dumb, he said of the maneuver. I bet the FAA finds that pilot and has a conversation. If I were the airline both of those pilots would be unemployed.
