The Nazi Party was officially named the National Socialist German Workers' Party (in German: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, or NSDAP).
"Workers" sounds so union and so communist.

(3,799 posts)They were hypercapitalist. Hitler took over the workers socialist party. Nazis violently went after the trade unions. Aligned with big business. Germany ended up with monopoly capitalism. Hence Eisenhower's warning about industrial military complex. Sound familiar?
Republicans do socialism for companies. They only holler if they think it will benefit a person they deem unworthy. Like all American workers.
Should have never brought over the paperclip nazis.

(1,220 posts)The label doesn't have to be understood; it just needs to stick. Once the label sticks, the propaganda machine (right-wing radio, internet, alt-right news) can define it to death if need be. I'm sorry. You're not wrong about this, but it doesn't matter what the label means. The folks who will buy what the bad guys are selling will buy their definition of the label.

(3,799 posts)To fight the red scare. They spread like roaches. When McCarthy was stopped. There should have been punishment and education. Instead nazi terms and ideas have infiltrated our government. Insidious use of separate but equal.
