The team at MS NOWs The Weekend was sent into delirious laughter Sunday morning after the network played a video montage of President Donald Trump touting his administrations fair system of justice and supposed end to political prosecutions.
The montage was queued to provide context on a recent interview of former special counsel Jack Smith, who revealed the steps he took to prepare for potential prosecution by the Trump administration in retaliation for his investigation.
Never again will the immense power of the state be weaponized to persecute political opponents, Trump can be heard saying in the video montage. My administration has acted swiftly and decisively to restore fair, equal and impartial justice under the constitutional rule of law.
As the clip montage concluded, a smirking Jonathan Capehart struggled when trying to cite the countless examples of the Trump administration targeting the presidents political opponents with investigations and prosecutions.
Perhaps on Earth 2 that is what Trump did, for those living here on Earth 1 Capehart said before bursting into a wheezing laugh. We've seen the exact opposite as his own personal law firm going after his perceived enemies while rewarding his allies!
Capehart continued to laugh before apologizing and conceding that the outburst may land him and his MS NOW colleague totally in trouble.

(17,340 posts)1. I often wonder how any of those anchors can keep a straight face.

Maybe they are well off enough that they are insulated from the consequences but for most people it is tragic rather than funny.

because his world is divided into two camps: loyal assets and deadly enemies. Fairness to him is protecting the former at all costs while persecuting the latter, ditto.
Therre will be a lot of repair work necessary if this country is to continue, at all, and much of that work will have to take place at the constitutional level, along with expanding the USSC to reflect the number of districts,.
