Texas bakery reports customer surge after viral post slamming MAGA

A Texas bakery is attracting national attention — and apparently a wave of new customers — after a viral post in which its owner expressed embarrassment about the state of the country.

Hive Bakery in Flower Mound posted on its Facebook page that it was "not wanting to celebrate the 4th this year" on July 3, stating that "we're embarrassed, afraid, and disappointed in what this country has become."

"MAGA is adversarial," the post added, saying it would remain open on the holiday. "Those conservatives who still have rational thought have left the MAGA movement. Those who remain and continue to support the most corrupt administration in our nation's history are here, wishing for our bakery to burn to the ground."

The bakery said it had sold out of "Distress Sugar Cookies," which featured an upside-down American flag with the words "Under Distress."

and with all the kooks down there, I seriously worry about his welfare, saying/ doing something like this

Displaying first amendment rights in Texas, like in all Red States, is reserved for MAGAots ONLY, and can be hazardous to one's health and business..............

One of the top safest cities in the entire country per capita. They do get flamed on the local FB etc when a right winger goes there and is shocked. They are well known very liberal establishment and have their own set of clientele. I’ve bought cookies there as well.

I've been seeing their posts on Instagram. The bakery is standing tall and has sold out of all of their merch.

Looks like they make insanely delicious treats!

Many of their cakes have vegan options (the lemon lavender one sounds especially yummy!! 😋 ). Sadly, depending on traffic, it could be as much as a 7 hour drive for me.
I will just have to keep a look out for their merch, and support them that way.

See the link in my above reply. Anything that won't spoil en route is likely available.

On edit: They have a "Support Hive" section on their website, and we can donate to them.

Ho. Lee. $h!t. You’ve sold us out of every last piece of merch. We have ordered a restock on everything and hope to have that within a week or two. We’re doing our best to keep up with demand but there are only 10 of us and sooooooo many of you. 🫶🏻

Yes, they draw a lot of ire from MAGAt types (lots of women with tats and attitude), but they also seem to have a line down the sidewalk waiting to get in and buy their stuff daily. I assume the line’s only going to get longer the more they stand firm.

Seriously worth a look at their page, though you may want to up your insulin. The pix are mouthwatering!
