I also came up with Rigor Tortoise, Hair Farce One, and Mailorderia. They cannot abide ridicule, so I consider it my patriotic duty.
I am an engineer, and we are oft accused of using language poorly, but I pride myself on it.

You are right about the engineers. The phone company (now Verizon) used to have me come in to do seminars for their engineers, for the reason you stated. Other companies, too, like the public power company for this area. I think it's more that their minds work a different way. For one, engineers are very precise people and with work relationships, you don't want to get too precise, if you know what I mean.

Loved the latest three!

I found in engineering school that most engineers (not all) can’t write very well. When we had a group project, I got out of a LOT of work because I would be the one to organize the data and write the report.
I have been told that I am unusual because before I design something, I often do an artistic drawing of it, then an engineering sketch with dimensions to send to a CADD operator. Younger engineers would just do the CADD themselves.
It is always interesting to see how close my artistic rendering came to what was eventually built. Usually pretty close.
