Say hello to our new MIR Team!

The job of the Malicious Intruder Removal Team is to ban people who join DU with the intent to disrupt. MIR Team members are volunteers, they serve for a three-month term, and they must take a break after serving two consecutive terms.

If you are a member of the MIR Team, you should now have access to the access-restricted Malicious Intruder Removal Forum. It should appear as a red folder in your sidebar navigation, on the Forums page in the Special Forums section, and also on the Help & Search category page.

We have a lot of turnover this term, because many members on our most recent MIR Team just served three straight terms in order to help cover the period from election day through the inauguration. A big thank you to all who too part over the past several terms, and also to our new and returning MIR Team members, who were selected on a first-come-first-served basis.

9. When does the current MIRT term end, exactly?

According to this announcement, our 3 month term would be up today (going by a literal reading of the calendar).

The reason I ask is that I was expecting to be done by the end of April and wasn't planning to stay on for another term after that due to other things I need to take care of in "real" life. I can stick around for a few more days, but if it's going to be much longer than that, I may have to bow out a little early

I have enjoyed working on MIRT, and I would prefer to finish out this term, but I feel like I need a firm "end" date before I can decide what to do. Thanks!
