Map Shows Range of China's Ship-Killer Missiles Targeting US Territory

Source: newsweek

China continues to bolster its ship-sinking capability amid United States naval presence in the Pacific, as a Newsweek map shows the East Asian military power is capable of targeting American warships off the West Coast with long-range ballistic missiles.

China has maintained a large and growing arsenal capable of directly threatening the U.S., challenging and disrupting its military presence in or around a conflict in the Asia-Pacific region, the Pentagon said in its Chinese military power report on Tuesday.
...............
Why It Matters

Facing China's assertive activities that threaten its allies in the western Pacific, the U.S. maintains a persistent naval presence, including aircraft carriers, in line with its island chain strategy, which aims to deter and defend against potential Chinese aggression.

Meanwhile, the Chinese military has developed a missile-centered strategy that seeks to prevent or restrict U.S. forces from entering and operating in a given area, serving as a countermeasure against U.S. intervention in a potential conflict in the western Pacific..................................

the fear, with this incompetent party in control of all three branches plus the 6 asswipes in the US SC, and the love affair with Putin, I feel our national security within and abroad is compromised.

...need to dominate waters out to Japan. No need to attack the US mainland. They will take staggering losses but they probably now, or soon, have more than enough anti ship capabilities to decimate the US, South Korean and Japanese fleets of immediate threat. Likely they will have to level air bases/airports in the whole region to limit immediate tactical response if they plan a land battle for Taiwan. They know they will have to absorb significant damage in the retaliation from US long range bombers but assuming they target US and allied satellites, targeting capability against their mobile forces will be severely degraded. Losses will be high on both sides in personnel and equipment. Only counter to this is if US and allies take a first strike stance if the see China marshalling forces. Possible but highly unlikely.

They must realize, and all the other superpowers must also obviously realize is:

"If we go, you go"...........

Of course, a complete Carrier "Group" is stationed off the coast of Venezuela for some piss ant vendetta of our leader........instead of where they could be a threat to any country.............

9. China has the momentum

It had the momentum even before trump was installed a second time. But US power, in every form, is dropping like a stone. They can wait. And they know waiting is the smart ploy. If Ukraine falls, i expect the issue to get pushed sooner, but right now, China is ok with letting US shoot itself in the knees and then refuse health care.

When we were Chinas biggest trading partner and we were their biggest market, they needed us. Trump’s tariffs have shown them that they don’t need us that much any more. It didn’t make economic sense to go to war with us even just a year ago. The calculus has changed. Trump has made us more strategically vulnerable than ever before.

Ukrainian drones point up the vulnerability of warships to.much less expensive and complex weapons.
Wait until they make the chemical weapons conventions quaint.
Don't think there isn't a plan for that already... and a person at the helm who wouldn't go there, and not just the one.
Our diplomatic posture and our "Warrior Ethos" make all this much more likely.

As it sailed in the Pacific.

The Chinese owner told the US Coast Guard to fuck off and kept sailing.

Trump is playing with dynamite
