Dems weaponize Epstein in anti-GOP midterm ads

Source: msn/Axios

6h

Several top Democratic candidates in the midterms are airing scathing ads linking their Republican foes to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal — betting that the Trump administration's reluctance to release the Epstein files still resonates with voters.

Why it matters: Democrats are mostly focusing on high prices, health care and Trump's war against Iran, but some also are trying to tie Republicans to the late sex offender as part of a broader message accusing the GOP of protecting the corrupt elite.

Zoom in: In the hotly contested Ohio Senate race, Democrat Sherrod Brown has spent nearly $1.5 million on TV ads slamming his GOP rival, freshman Sen. Jon Husted, for previously taking donations from Epstein financial client Leslie Wexner, according to the ad-tracking firm AdImpact.

  • In fact, the only two ads Brown has aired this year have attacked Husted over Epstein, per AdImpact.

  • Husted spokesperson Amy Natoce told Axios the campaign has "donated all available funds" from Wexner "to an anti-human trafficking charity."

  • Husted's campaign has also noted that Brown previously accepted donations from Wexner's wife. Wexner, for his part, has said that Epstein conned him.

    2. There are many issues

we need to lock in. Epstein and cost of living are two of them. They are both promises made by Trump but not kept. There should be a priority list of issues from the DNC to guide the party. Then we should hit each one as hard as we can.

The Epstein files though should be front and center.
Why? Because they have zero excuses, and its an issue that strikes deep in the Red States. Make them change their votes or even just staying home would work. They have been hyped for years about how devastating these files will be (for Democrats). They have built up a fever about child sexual abuse. Yes of course, any sane person should be concerned. But it had become a crusade for the MAGA base. Again, mostly to bust things like the Pizza parlour Hillary child sex trafficking ring. But folks like MTG will NOT let this go.

And so Democrats MUST take advantage of the divide in the Republican party and embarrass them even more.

IMO even though gas and groceries are up because of Trump, its an issue that a lot of his base have accepted as a "pain now but riches later" reasoning from Dear Leader. Not all of them, but enough, who will be steered by influencers and RW news that will hammer home the message up to the midterms. Biden caused sooooooo much damage that Dear Leader has to do a deep clean of the system to weed out the deep state and get the economy booming more than it ever has!

    3. Cost of living is the one thing that the right wing can't manipulate...

When they're filling up their car and paying 35% or more to fill up, or going into a grocery store and buying 200.00 worth of groceries that cost 150.00 a little over a year they are going to notice regardless of what One América or whatever right-wing kook channel they're listening to.
It's sad but the Epstein issue is not going to hold the same weight as what everyday expenses are costing voters every single day.
Cost of living must be the number one issue!

    4. I'd consider doing a clip ad of Trump saying "I am not a pedophile" along with Nixon claiming he's not a crook.

Then trying to tie that to the Republicans.
