(26,356 posts)I'm 77 y/o and like to have a hard copy manual in front of me. Your able to check it out immediately - and you can highlight certain passages in a hard copy.
I know that you could go to the internet or to some settings on the phone - but that involves spending time looking for info that could help - when in a hard copy - you could go to an index and a page and find it immediately. Also - it's hard to refer to a computer generated aid - cause you have to be able to find it again.
I'm just old fashioned and i want a hard copy manual. I went to the book stores to find a hard copy. In fact I found one on e-bay and ordered it. I don't know what country it came from or who wrote this manual - but it was filled with misspellings, bad and incorrect info and wasn't quite coherent because it was written by someone that didn't have control of the English language.
Us old timers are set in our ways and we want to do things the way we always did things. Not have to rely on digital instructions - but we want hard copy.
I'm sure the telephone manufacturers - because they keep changing and modifying their phones - sometimes on a daily basis - don't want to have to go to the expense to print hard copy manuals - so we're stuck with having to rely on the internet to learn how to use the phone.
I've been going back to the telephone store where i purchased the phone and finding someone there to tell me how to do something with the phone or to point out what i'm doing wrong. It's a hassle!!!
We old timers don't have the patience, time or desire to have to rely on digital instructions = we want hard copy manuals.
If anyone out there on DU has a suggestions as to a hard copy manual that I can purchase that is easy to use, has pictures and easy to understand - -please provide me with a title so I can go out and purchase one for the Samsung S24 Ultra.

(16,957 posts)we oldtimers, and I am one, are not used to having information just whisked away while we' re trying to make sense of what we are reading.
Me, I touch a screen and I expect it to return if I touch that screen a second chance. But no, the phone has a mind of it's own. (Iphone 17)

(3,318 posts)... GREED. They don't want to bother with the expense of writing and producing a manual, and if they provide anything explanatory, it's in 2-point mice type on a page the size of a postage stamp, and you need a microscope to read it!
Other than that, they're great.
There are after-market manuals available.
