Meaning you made a vow to your spouse to be an equal partner , not to play second fiddle to each of your families. And if you can;t do that , please, please, don't have kids, when all your love goes to your birth family. Thank you.

Especially since so many have ties to the right wing.
There are cultures (even in the US) that are family focused, though. It would be very hard for them to cut family ties and there are benefits to extended family when having children.
