But, if there was one thing I learned is never go out at dawn to walk my sweet old pup without a baseball cap. (I can recall two incidents of unwitting guys getting scalped that way over the past 20 years and boy did the tv news go wild over those stories!)

I didn't celebrate it because I didn't know that there was such a day. I wish I had known. Owls are one of my favorite birds.

Here's a Western Screech Owl, trying to blend in with his tree.
They are tiny, for owls, only the size of robins.
