... the week that they appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show, the Saturday Evening Post published my cartoon about the Beatles. I was a junior in high school, and the youngest cartoonist to ever be published in that magazine at the time. I no longer have a copy of that 'toon, but the image was a dad in the foreground dropping his martini, and with a shocked expression, saying to his daughter in the background who has a Beatle by the arm, "A WHAT followed you home and can you keep him?"
I was a hero for about a week, then returned to my position as the kid in the back of the room who never got the hang of algebra.
