(6,254 posts)I should learn how to post photos here. The last snowfall was pure fairy land. I have a forested hill right behind my house, a 350 acre park right here in town. It bisects the sky and blocks the sunsets, but is quite beautiful on its own. The Kennebec River is a short walk in the other direction. I am an hour from the Atlantic coast and an hour from the western mountains and am surrounded by lakes, waterfalls and good hikes in all directions.
A friend from Nebraska finds Maines hilly landscape somewhat claustrophobic. She gets her big sky refreshment at our beautiful, expansive sandy beaches. I do that too, and also spend time in the mountains.
I love Maine.
Happy No Kings Day.
