Does anybody here watch Mama June? If so, why?

Whenever I watch anything on WE, they have ads for that show and for the life of me, I can't figure out what is so great about that show and those people. Not one scene ever piqued my interest enough to think "gee, I wonder what will happen next? I better tune in to see."

They must have enough viewers to keep it on air. To each his own, of course, but I am at a complete and total loss as to figuring out its appeal.

Early on, there was an extremely entertaining episode with brilliant editing of one of their Thanksgiving dinners that deserved some sort of award... for being disgusting.

the cast of the show is such a "mess" and often truly pathetic. That is a level of exploitation that makes those producing those shows demonstrably monstrous, but it "sells" in our culture.

My knowledge of that particular individual dates back decades to Obama being asked about "Honey boo boo" (or whatever her name was) and his humorously answering as though he took the show or the people seriously... I was never curious enough to find out more about it, but I have seen a paragraph or two about this "family" over the years. Truly dysfunctional, and I'm content to turn aside.
