Questions over Hawaii elections before ballots go out
HONOLULU (Island News) -- The state's primary election is a month away, but how Hawaii's holds its elections is being questioned before ballots go out.
"Any significant security issues?" asked Sen. Mike Gabbard.
"That would be a no. There was no significant security issues, because we've been doing mail-in ballots for a while," answers Hawaii Chief Elections Officer Scott Nago.
An informational briefing was held Wednesday for Hawaii lawmakers over mail-in ballot elections. The state has been doing that since 2020.
