Thank you for taking a moment to hear directly from me. I want to speak to you the same way I speak to people at their doors or across a kitchen table. Honest. Direct. From the heart.
I am running for the DuPage County Board because too many people in our community feel like they are being pushed aside. When government forgets the people it serves, something is deeply wrong.
I have spent most of my life in public health and community work. I have seen people at their strongest and at their most vulnerable. I have watched seniors fight to stay in the homes they built. I have seen parents beg for mental health care for their kids because the system failed them. I have sat with families who lost everything after another flood because the county did not act.
This district is full of people who work hard, look out for one another, and keep this community moving. Yet they are being left behind by a system that responds too slowly or not at all.
My parents came to this country from Balochistan with courage and hope. They taught me that dignity belongs to every person. Today I am raising my kid here and I feel that responsibility in every decision I make. We cannot build a community where some families get stability while others are left struggling.
One day, while canvassing in the heart of this district, a senior opened the door with her property tax bill in her hand. She told me she had lived in her home for decades but did not know how much longer she could stay. That is wrong. No senior who built these neighborhoods should be forced out.
Another day, a mother told me her kid had been waiting months for mental health care. She looked exhausted. She was scared. She felt alone. That is not how any parent should feel in a county with our resources.
And in Villa Park, a small business owner showed me the damage from yet another flood. She had called the county for help three times. No one responded. That is not what public service looks like.
These stories are not rare. They are warnings about what happens when government stops listening.
Property taxes keep climbing while incomes do not.
Flooding destroys homes and businesses again and again.
Kids cannot get mental health support when they need it.
Seniors are being priced out.
Small businesses feel invisible.
Immigrant families speaking Spanish, Polish, Urdu, Arabic and many other languages are shut out of services they pay taxes for.
I am running because this is unacceptable.
I am running because people deserve better.
I am running because District 2 needs someone who will stand up for us, not stand back.
I will protect homeowners and seniors by keeping the county portion of property taxes stable and by cutting waste, not essential services.
I will push for real flood infrastructure and make sure the neighborhoods that flood the most get help first.
I will expand mental health access with more clinicians, school partnerships, and mobile services so families do not wait months for support.
I will make county services accessible in the languages spoken in our homes.
I will support small businesses with simpler processes and fair treatment.
And I will bring transparency to a county government that has grown too distant from the people it serves.
My values are clear. Dignity. Fairness. Community. Accountability. These guide every decision I make.
I am running an independent and people powered campaign because public service should never be for sale. I am not a career politician. I am a neighbor who has spent my career standing with families, seniors, workers, and communities that others overlook.
District 2 is one of the most diverse and resilient communities in this state. We have seniors who built these neighborhoods. We have immigrant families building new futures. We have kids who deserve opportunity and safety. And we have small business owners who keep our local economy alive.
We deserve a county government that reflects our strength. A government that listens. A government that shows up. A government that works for all of us.
My vision is simple. Affordability. Safety. Dignity.
I will never forget who I work for.
I will always listen.
I will always show up.
And I will always fight for our community every single day I am trusted to serve.
Thank you for giving me the chance to earn your trust and your partnership. Together we can build the DuPage that our families deserve. And I want my kid to grow up in a community where every family feels supported and respected.
