Michigan tabulator tampering trial delayed again; now on 10th date

A trial to determine whether a Michigan lawyer was involved in an illegal scheme to obtain and examine vote tabulators used in the 2020 presidential election might not occur until after the 2026 midterm election.

The trial of lawyer Stefanie Lambert, who's facing four felony charges in Oakland County, had been scheduled to begin on Monday, the ninth date that had been set for the proceeding, according to court records.

However, last week, Judge Jeffery Matis delayed the trial date again, as the Court of Appeals considers Lambert's bid to challenge the planned instructions for the jury.

Matis scheduled a conference to discuss the status of the matter for Oct. 14, 20 days before the midterm election, according to court records.
