Campaign Finance Board says Adams campaign may have violated law

In mid-April, Mayor Eric Adams was dismissive when asked about his struggle to get matching funds.

“First of all, when we have an announcement for CFB, I’ll make that announcement and let you know,” he said at the time.

Just two days earlier, he got some bad news from the city’s Campaign Finance Board — receiving a letter, just obtained by NY1.

The date is April 15, two weeks after his criminal case was dismissed by a federal judge. Even with the mayor’s corruption case gone, the board reiterates a decision it made months earlier.

The mayor’s campaign will not be getting millions of dollars in public matching funds.
