Special meeting regarding election for Waukesha County executive on Friday

WAUKESHA – Due to the death of Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow, a special County Board meeting will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday to discuss and consider resolution for special election of Waukesha County Executive. Farrow,61, died on Tuesday following a battle with cancer.

County Board Chairman Jim Heinrich remembered Farrow as a dedicated public servant and community leader. "I am heartbroken by the passing of County Executive Farrow," Heinrich said. "Paul was a devoted public servant, a steady leader and a proud champion for Waukesha County. He led with conviction and cared deeply about this community. On behalf of the County Board, I extend our deepest condolences to his wife, Amy, and the Farrow family, his friends, colleagues and all who had the privilege of knowing him."

Under state law, Heinrich will immediately assume the duties of acting county executive. Within 30 days, the Waukesha County Board is expected to confirm the appointment of an interim county executive. A countywide special election will then be held to fill the remainder of Farrow’s term.

The meeting will be held in Waukesha County Administration Center in Room 1-0200.
