And cut my hair?
Ive had long, straight hair for 50 years. With chemo, I imagine it will all fall out. I dont much care, but I dont want to deal with the mess.
Im feeling weak and dont want to have to go out in search of a beautician.
Thanks

(13,285 posts)Lots of beauticians do home visits. Also maybe if you have a senior center they might know someone.
That's how I found someone to come out for my Mom. They did the whole treatment, haircut, and manicure.
Good luck.

(67,038 posts)I've read somewhere that the Cancer Society has a large volunteer group to help with rides to med appointments, etc. Perhaps hair care is a possibility too.

(67,038 posts)But they also had traveling beauticians who would come and give the elders clips and curls -- for like $5.00!
I hope it is helpful info.

(11,984 posts)Surely there is a worthy student that would be happy to get the practice and made a few extra bucks. It is probably verboten for them to take money before they get their certificate, but I trust that framing it as travel expenses would work.

Hope you're managing okay and finding joy in your days.

(31,867 posts)I don't know all their rules, but I ran into a compassionate young man at my hairdresser's salon a few years ago. She had only one contact with him, and neither of us can remember his name.
He had long, honey-blonde hair. He brought a box from Locks of Love and told our hairdresser to cut his hair and he would put it in the box and give it to Locks of Love. He said he did this whenever his hair got long enough. He had lost his mother to breast cancer.
See what you can find out. Prayers and good vibes to you!
