Breakfast Saturday 23 May 2026

Later this morning I'm planning on finishing the vegetable beef soup I made the other day with a biscuit and a pot of hot tea.

Kodiak cakes with blueberries and ham slices, later.

My niece and her 2 sons are here for the weekend. They wanted to spend time with their favorite uncle.

Good Morning 🤗

Homemade chicken broth with diced tomato and fresh wilted spinach in it with semi homemade bread (Rhodes bread) and butter on the side.

Kind of unusual I know, but it’s what I had and what I had a taste for. Also, Asians have soup for breakfast all the time. I’m not Asian, but I do do that sometimes like today.

Hope everyone has a nice Memorial Day weekend.

Even though it’s been a while since I’ve had to cook for several people on the regular, I still find it difficult cooking for one. I don’t mind leftovers at all in fact, sometimes I prefer it. I’ve considered starting a thread here about cooking for one (although I haven’t done that yet). I don’t know….

I thought I’m gonna’ have soup but everyone will think I’m crazy. Then I come here and everyone is having soup.

Mine is creamy mushroom potato with dill and chorizo bits.

Maybe an accompanying tuna fish sandwich that I never got to last night.
