uneasily moan beg and bicker then roar the way down
in the following deafening hush amidst the quiet cold
and far beneath lives flicker eyes darken underground
what was once true and sure now twisted and mangled
strewn across the landscape in the meaningless debris
evil has tainted what was pure as temptation is dangled
lies hide a slow silent rape denying any chances to flee
wisdom accumulates in piles while lacking all definition
a blackened branch protrudes from the dead whiteness
here lie the marked the trials from a constant repetition
hesitating when truth intrudes upon the willful sightless
frozen barely able to breathe struggling on underneath
to choose what to believe yet knowing all in life is brief
