Bond granted for Falcons rookie Pearce after alleged domestic dispute with WNBA player

Atlanta Falcons rookie star James Pearce Jr. appeared before a judge on Sunday after being accused of fleeing officers and crashing his car near Miami following a domestic dispute with WNBA player Rickea Jackson.

According to jail records, Pearce is facing charges of two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon as well as aggravated stalking and fleeing or eluding police with lights or siren.

During his court appearance, a judge dismissed Pearce's attorney's comments that his client should be given bond because he is an NFL player who lives in Georgia.

"It doesn't matter what his employment is," the judge said. "I'm sorry, I don't think you understand. I have no care about what his employment is, OK. I have an individual charged with a crime."
