Hail Mary is the finest film I've seen in my life.

I read the book awhile back, and had trouble imagining how a movie based on the book would be possible. I've just returned from the theater with my questions answered.

The story is quite brilliant, and the film makers managed to honor it with serious devotion to detail. It is human and humane, shocking and powerful. Frankly, it moved me deeply.

I urge everyone to take the time to see this film. If you haven't read the book, feel free to wait.

Honestly. I'm blown away. Ryan Gosling is great.

Every one of your recent posts is similar in nature. If you’re not interested in it, move along instead of bashing it.

Loved it! Lots of details from the book were left out of the movie. None of them really mattered for the telling of the story.
The theatre was packed, which I haven't seen since pre-pandemic. Lots of folks are interested in this movie.

2 adult kids. The audience was frozen. Almost no one got up for 2 1/2 hours - which is impressive considering no bio breaks for that long!
Agree - it's a really great movie! I think we collectively need something like this right now.

The box office was closed. Go inside to the machines to purchase a ticket. Senior, $10
Small coke, small popcorn. $14 (I got old) It's been over 10 years.

The movie is a mix. The basic story is very good but the execution was PG. I'm not sure what part is the 13.

I detected bits of Number 5 from Short Circuit, Interstellar, The Three Stooges, and Silent Running. A little cute mixed in with an important mission. It's a good movie with an interesting finish. (There is a 2 minute section which I don't like, but no spoilers.)

Take the family and enjoy!

And am a bit apprehensive about seeing the movie. I've heard it's really well done. My S-I-L said the trailer gives way too much away. That's a shame.

Not quite as I imagined it in reading, but movies never are.

I'll watch it again in a theater if the opportunity arises. There's not many movies I say that about. The two and a half hours goes by quick.

I read the story first so there wasn't much to give away. Watching two of the trailers did not detract from my enjoyment of the movie.

I gave up on it 45 minutes in. If you suffer from insomnia like I do, this movie will absolutely put you to sleep.

But hammering on it up and down this thread is a real indication of a problem with yourself.

Get some help. Negative obsession is not healthy.

You have a right to your opinion. But you've been a bit of a bully on this thread, almost as if you have a personal connection to the film.

You've expressed yourself. Relax.

How does my honest opinion that differs from yours make me a bully?
Fact is, you're trying to bully me because you disagree with my opinion.

The theater parking lot was jammed, and it usually isn't on a Tuesday. There were school buses, and apparently a local school had booked two theaters to see Hoppers. It looks funny, but I think I'll save that one for streaming.

I liked it overall, but the tone seemed a bit uneven. If you're looking for serious, thought-provoking science fiction, you'll want to look elsewhere.
