According to Liz Cheney's book, Republicans feared for themselves and their families if they voted in favor of the post January 6th impeachment. And of the 10 who votes yes, only 2 were elected to the next Congress. She said that if the votes were anonymous, the yes votes would have been overwhelming, they all experienced the violence and fear of January 6th first hand.

Those in the House were told to put on gas masks under their seats - before they were warned to leave the chamber because the insurrectionists were trying to break down the door. There was also infighting, Lauren Boebert was accused of communicating with the rioters, telling them information like the fact that Speaker Pelosi had been evacuated.
