change his outlook on women over time.

Here's some information (I found very interesting) from Mathews' book RFK: A Raging Spirit.

It seems Bobby was quite a gentle soul as a child. His father Joseph P. hated that. Because he wanted his father's approval he began to submerge that part of himself. He toughened himself literally by playing football (and not just touch football). And became tough in his political dealings.

It seemed after JFK's assassination something broke in him and slowly that empathy he had harbored as a child, and hid away began to emerge.

So he might have bern capable of change.
