4. Yes, he is dead. Almost.

The brain died a while ago, but the rest of him hasn't gotten that message yet.

The logic and memory centres are always the first to go, then speech and mobility centres shut down.
Then finally, the most basic functions of breathing and heartbeat collapse.
It's a slow process, but irreversible.

Only obstinate arrogance keeps him going at the moment.
But he will flame out, guaranteed.
