7. They were non-profit when my grandmother was there.

They lost money on the nursing home but that was ok with them. Once you were a resident you could step up to the level of care you needed so most of the people in the nursing home were long time residents. My grandmother was in her own apartment. The “house parents” of the apartment building were very good about keeping an eye on her. I don’t think much of most organized religion but those folks were sincere in the care of the people who lived there being their mission. No preaching just lots of taking care of. It’s been a long time so things may have changed but I kinda doubt it. It had been that way since they opened as an orphanage.
