Saratoga Springs rally against fascism planned Sunday - Albany Times Union [View all]
SARATOGA SPRINGS - A Unity against Fascism rally will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday at the corner of Broadway and Church Street, outside the post office.
According to organizers, local citizens will gather during the Not On Our Watch rally to say all people are welcome, while ideas and groups that foster hate and violence are not.
"We work to foster a community of inclusion, where all peoples feel safe and accepted. We celebrate our differences and believe that diversity enriches and strengthens our lives and our democracy," they said in an advisory.
The rally, open to the public, is sponsored by Saratoga Peace Alliance, Veterans For Peace Adirondack Chapter 147 and Saratoga-Warren-Washington Progressive Action. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP and invite friends: https://mobilize.us/s/urBSyi or www.facebook.com/events/139934809110866
The gathering will come little more than a week after last Saturday afternoon's march by a group of apparent members of the far-right Proud Boys extremist group from Troy on Broadway. Members of the group were also seen in Ballston Spa and Waterford later in the day.
